Two of our outstanding former clinicians (Chima F, Madu and Abert Osegi) who are now development consultants decided to give back to the clinic by offering to be our consultants in restructuring, re-branding and re-positioning the law clinic for better visibility, impact and sustainability. As a prelude to the project, the first conducted a packaging analysis and discovered we have serious packaging gaps. Impact mapping report showed many more gaps in project design, execution and management. They therefore formed a team of experts and came up with project PLACE - A four(4) stage package the outcome of which will be a strong, efficient and well-positioned development platform. During the training component, Clinicians will undergo a 10-week intensive skills training on Project design and development; project execution and Management; Media, Advocacy and Branding, Monitoring & Evaluation and Sustainability and Continuity.
Consequently our directorates have been changed from being project-based to skill-based. The training has commenced earnestly and after the first week, we acquired so much skills regarding the above and we had mind-blowing experiences even from the first week. We are finding our place....through project PLACE. We are certainly grooming globe-changers who will serve humanity through their impacts. We hail the team of our consultants and congratulate the fathers of Nigerian clinical movement Prof. Ernest Ojukwu, Prof. Yemi Akinseye-George, Prof. Isa Chiroma, Madam Odi Lagi, Mahmud Yusuf and the rest of the NULAI team over the years. We also thank the Vice Chancellor Prof. Adikwu, The Dean- Prof. D.O.Odeleye and the immediate former Dean of the Faculty- Dr. K.M. Waziri. We also hail the clinic staff sub-coordinators.
